Glossary for working with an AI consultant for small business

Every term here means one specific thing — credit, diagnostic, roadmap, term end — so the catalog and the terms read without translation.

Buying terms

Professional Diagnostic. A fixed-fee diagnosis of where your business loses value and where it could create it, ending in a roadmap.

Roadmap. The ordered list the diagnostic ends in, with every move estimated in credits so you choose from a count.

Deliverable credit. One standard deliverable: 2,000 words, a ten-slide deck, a site section, an automation. Larger ones are quoted as a count.

Hours. The consultant time your plan includes each month, spent how you choose rather than filled for you.

Plan. A monthly subscription pairing hours with deliverable credits. Three of them: Essentials, Standard and Partner.

Term end. The date your term finishes and a plan cancels on. You know the date before you buy.

Accelerator. A fixed-fee, fixed-term engagement on my toolkit and method: defined scope, weeks instead of months, then a plan.

Rush. A flat fee to move one deliverable ahead of the seven-business-day turnaround, weekends included.

Model spend. What the AI models cost to run the work. An accelerator includes it; on a plan it is not published yet.

AI Launch Kit. The website and growth platform every plan runs on: templates, blocks, a headless API for agents, sixty page types.

Method terms

Positioning. Which category you compete in and what you have that the alternatives do not. Everything else reads from it.

Messaging. What you say to each buyer: the pillars, the pain each one answers, and the proof behind them.

Voice. How the writing sounds when it is yours: the register, the words you use, and the ones you never use.

Market validation. Testing an idea with fast, cheap experiments before you build it, until first customers prove it.

Growth plan. How the business grows next, written as moves in order with what each one needs.

Playbook. The written way your sales and marketing run, built into your tech stack and the follow-ups so it happens without you.

Growth platform. Your AI-first website and the systems around it, built with you and yours to keep.

Targeting maturity. How ready a business is to target one specific buyer. The recommender scores it and names your first move.

Level. What the targeting-maturity recommender gives you back. Each level starts you somewhere different.

Human + AI team terms

Human + AI team. A team where named AI agents do the producing and the people decide. Mine runs the businesses I run.

AI agent. Software given a name, a job and the tools to do it: a chief of staff, a marketer, an operations watcher.

Agent skill. A method written down so an agent runs it the same way every time. The diagnostic ships with the ones that brief the work.

Human in the loop. The gate. If an action is easy to undo the agent acts; if it costs money or touches a customer, it waits for a person.
